Update: 10am Sunday (Day 2)

The Japanese team of Saburo Ichiyoshi and Akio Hachinohe have a 20km lead over second place Swiss team Max Krebs and Walter Gschwendtner.

With some of the teams a good four hours behind them and going at half the speed of those in front, there are clearly some interesting tactics being played out.

News items on the British radio and TV and in the newspapers has meant a lot of interest. This website has around 1500 visitors currently visiting.

The flight control team is slowly re-appearing from various slumbers. I managed to grab 50 minutes' sleep, Don Cameron is passed out in the next room. Kevin Stass is getting some well-earned rest after trying to resolve some issues with one of the teams overnight. Phil Dunnington is "on watch" at the moment.
